Kosovo striker Vedat Muriqi has asked Mallorca to extend his contract for another two years. Muriqi, who turns 31 this month, wants to be part of Mallorca until at least the age of 35. He has a contract with Mallorca until 2027.
Muriqi is one of the highest-paid players at the Spanish club, with an annual salary of over four million euros.
The striker has already publicly expressed his desire on several occasions to retire on the island and is asking the club to prove his faith with a long-term contract, writes "okdiario.com" on Wednesday.
The decision to extend the contract must be made by the sports directorate, led by Pablo Ortells.
Muriqi is being sought after by various clubs in Europe, especially clubs in Turkey, where he played before moving to Lazio. Several clubs are preparing offers for the Kosovar, but for now the striker has his priority staying at Mallorca.
