Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven has said that the transfers made during the transfer window demonstrate the London club's ambitions to return to the highest levels of English football after two disappointing seasons in the Premier League.
Tottenham have invested around £237 million, transferring players such as Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes and Jan Paul van Hecke, while other reinforcements are expected before the end of the transfer window.
"It's great to see that the club has made changes. It shows that there is ambition and a desire to build something important," the Netherlands international told the BBC.
The 25-year-old stressed that the atmosphere in the team has improved significantly with the arrival of coach Roberto De Zerbi, who aims to build a team that plays offensive football and with possession of the ball.
"We like to have the ball and play attacking football. This is a style that both the players and the fans enjoy," the centre-back declared.
