Solskjaer becomes Rashica head coach

Former Manchester United player and coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was officially announced by Besiktas on Friday as the team's new coach.

Besiktas also features Kosovo footballer Milot Rashica and Albania footballer Ernest Muçi.

Solskjaer, 51, will have his first coaching job since being sacked by the Red Devils in 2021.

Besiktas, currently in sixth place in the Turkish Super League, parted ways with Dutchman Giovanni van Bronckhorst in November.

Norwegian Solskjaer had previously worked at Molde and Cardiff City.

As an active footballer, he scored 126 goals in 11 seasons for United, from 1996 to 2007.

He was also the scorer of the winning goal in the 1999 Champions League final.
