Midfielder Amir Abrashi scored his first goal in the Swiss Super League since April 2015 on Saturday. But the former Albania international's goal was not enough for Grasshopper, who suffered a 2-1 defeat to Servette in the third round of the Swiss elite. Grasshopper was left with one point.
After the match, 36-year-old Abrashi complained to referee Hysein Sanli.
"Until the red card, we played a very good game. Then it became very difficult. In the first ten minutes, every action was punished with a yellow card. The question must be asked whether they were really yellow cards. You stifle the game this way. We were punished with a yellow card for simulation, the other team got a penalty. That's not a yellow card. These are decisions that bring pain," said Abrashi, who is a long-time leader of Grasshopper.
The traditional Swiss club played with one less player from the 59th minute. They conceded the second goal in the 75th minute.
