Olivier Ntcham in the 53rd minute from the penalty spot, Cherif Ndiaye in the 71st minute and Marius in the 79th and 92nd minutes, scored the winning goals for the Turkish team.

Shkëndija's journey to Europe this season began with victories over The New Saints of Wales and FCSB of Romania in the first and second qualifying rounds of the Champions League. They were then eliminated in the third qualifying round of the Champions League by Qarabag of Azerbaijan, while in the Europa League play-offs, they were defeated by Ludogorets.

In the league stage of the Conference League, they had two victories, against Shelbourne of Ireland and Slovan Bratislava of Slovakia, drew with Jagiellonian of Poland, while losing to Rayo Vallecano of Spain, the champion of Kosovo, Drita, and AEK Larnaca of Cyprus.

They finished in 22nd place with seven points, which secured their place in the knockout stage. However, they failed to beat Turkish side Samsunspor.

Shkëndija now turns its attention to the elite North Macedonian championship. It is currently in second place with 45 points, six behind Vardar.
