Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger has apologised for his behaviour at the end of Saturday's Copa del Rey final against Barcelona.
The Germany international attempted to attack the referee in the final seconds of the 3-2 defeat. He had previously been sent off due to an injury. He was shown a red card for his behaviour.
"There is definitely no excuse for my behavior last night. I am very sorry for this. We played very well from the second half onwards. After 111 minutes I was not able to help my team more and before the end I made a mistake. I apologize again to the referee and everyone I disappointed last night," he wrote on Instagram.
Real Madrid were defeated by Barcelona in extra time. The end was marked by a lot of tension.
