Rubin Kazan coach Frank Artiga explained how the departure of striker Mirlind Daku affected the first-round match of the Russian Cup group stage. Rubin lost heavily 5-0 to Rodina on Tuesday.
"Of course, such things are not coincidences. But it is wrong to find such excuses. There are distractions, but it is unfair to find excuses. We can complain about the lack of a striker, but with a result like this... This should serve as a lesson for us. And we should show a completely different face in the other matches," said Artiga.
Daku is expected to be introduced to Spartak Moscow soon.
Dardan Shabanhaxhaj played until the 52nd minute, while Veldin Hoxha was substituted in his place.
