Former Brazil striker Romario has come out of retirement at the age of 58 and signed up with Brazilian club America Football Club to play alongside his son.
Romario, who won the World Cup in 1994, is the president of the club from Rio de Janeiro, which plays in the second division of football in the Rio region.
Romario has said that he will not play in the league, but has expressed the desire to have a few minutes in some matches with his son, Romarinho.
Romario played his last match in November 2009, "BBC" wrote on Wednesday.
He started his career in 1985 at Vasco de Gama, before moving and having success at PSV in the Netherlands and Barcelona in Spain.

He retired in 2009 and played his last game for America FC, where his father, Edevair, played.
Romario has scored 55 goals in 70 games for Brazil and was named FIFA Player of the Year in 1994 after scoring five goals in the World Cup campaign.
