The best is announced by votes from the public and a panel of experts.
Despite having an excellent season, Granit Xhaka was not included in the competition.
His Sunderland manager, Regis Le Brice, is among the contenders for manager of the year along with Mikel Arteta, Pep Guardiola, Michael Carrick, Keith Andrews and Andoni Iraola.
The Premier League also announces the best young player of the season.
