Kaiserslautern signed Albanian goalkeeper Simon Simoni on Wednesday.
The 20-year-old has been loaned from Eintracht Frankfurt for a year and a half.
Julian Krahl is the Bundesliga 2 team's first-choice goalkeeper, while Simon will now be his strong competitor.
"We have always said that we want to have another goalkeeper in the team to offer competition. With Simon we have found the perfect goalkeeper. He is young, talented, with potential for development and already has considerable experience at a high level," said Kaiserslautern director Thomas Hengen.
Simonni is from Lezha, and has played for all of Albania's youth age groups. In 2023, he was transferred to Eintracht Frankfurt from Dinamo Tirana. In the first half of this season, he was loaned to the German third division team, Ingolstadt.
With Eintracht Frankfurt, Simoni has a contract until the summer of 2027.
"Kaiserslautern is a great club with great fans and I'm happy to be here. I see real opportunities to take the next step in my development. I will do everything to help the team," Simoni said.
