Kosovo player, Leart Paçarada, has changed teams but remained in the Bundesliga.
The left-winger moved from Cologne to Heidenheim on Thursday. The 30-year-old signed a two-year deal with Heidenheim.
He was not part of Cologne's plans and was left free to find another team.
"We are delighted to have secured an experienced player who has offered a lot for teams like Sandhausen, St Pauli and most recently Cologne," said Holger Sanwald, Heidenheim's chief executive.
Pacharada is confident that he will be successful with the new team.
