The captaincy in Saudi Arabian football for Brazilian superstar Neymar appears to be over.
The 32-year-old striker has not registered for the second half of the season in Saudi Arabia's top flight, and is not part of Al-Hilal's plans.
This was announced by coach Jorge Jesus at a press conference on Friday.
"Neymar is not at the level we are used to seeing him at. Unfortunately, things have not gone well for him," said Jesus.
Neymar has a contract with the Arab club until the summer, while he joined the champion in the summer of 2023 for 90 million euros.
He has played in seven matches for Al-Hilal, but has spent most of his time sidelined due to injuries.
On Friday, it was reported that several MLS teams in the United States were interested in Neymar.
