On July 9, Mallorca announced the extension of the contract with Kosovar striker, Vedat Muriqi.
The experienced center forward will be part of Mallorca until the summer of 2029. Many fans thought that with the contract extension, Muriqi would have a salary increase.
But the Kosovo representative, in an interview with "Cadena Ser", stated that he will be paid the same as last year. Muriqi will be the highest paid player on the team with a salary of four million euros per year.
"What interests people is that with the renewal I will earn the same as last year, but for a longer period of time. I am not one of those who thinks about money. My agent called me to tell me about the offers and I asked my daughter if she wanted to leave Mallorca and she said no," said Muriqi.
The 31-year-old was transferred to Mallorca in 2022 from Lazio for eight million euros.
He has played 118 games with the Spanish club, scoring 35 goals and contributing 11 assists.
