Fans of Turkish champions Galatasaray applied pressure throughout the 90 minutes and then celebrated passionately.
Their beloved team scored a huge victory in the Champions League.
Galata won 1:0 against the reigning English champions, Liverpool. The match of the second round of the Champions League phase took place at the “Ali Sami Yen” stadium.
The fiery challenge was decided in the 16th minute. Victor Osimhen scored the valuable goal with a penalty kick. The penalty was awarded for an illegal interference on Barish Yilmaz.
The English giants then continued their efforts to equalize, but to no avail. With strong support from the stands, Galatasaray's players managed to hold on to the lead until the end.
In the 89th minute, the referee awarded a penalty to Liverpool for an illegal tackle in the Turkish team's area. However, after a VAR review, it was deemed that there was no tackle and the decision was overturned.
Liverpool scored a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Atletico Madrid in the first leg. But they left Istanbul empty-handed, even though Galata had lost heavily in the first leg, 5-1, to Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany.

Galata had several other chances. Liverpool also had chances. The second half of the match in Istanbul is expected to be intense.
