PBayer Leverkusen resident Fernando Carro has said he would not oppose the departure of coach Xabi Alonso if he has an offer to manage one of his former clubs, including Real Madrid.
"We have a tacit agreement that if an offer comes for Alonso from one of the teams he played for, we will sit down to talk and we will not put any obstacles in his way," Carro said, "20 Minuten" reported on Monday.
Alonso, who took charge of the German club from September 2022, began his playing career at Real Sociedad, before appearing for Liverpool, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
Under Alonso's leadership, Leverkusen won the championship title, the German Cup and played in the Europa League final.
