He is expected to be sidelined until mid-November.

Alisson has already missed two games this season due to another injury and missed almost two months of last season, from February to April.

"It's something unusual for goalkeepers," said Slot. "But not for me because even when I was at Feyenoord, goalkeeper Justin Bijloë had muscle injuries as well. These two are cases unlike any other. We will see in the future what could be the reason for these injuries", said Slot on Friday, "BBC" writes.

Alisson, 32, will miss Chelsea on Sunday, while also missing the league games against Arsenal, Brighton and Aston Villa.

In "Champions" he will not be present for the duels against Leipzig and Leverkusen.

He will also miss the "Carabao Cup" against Brighton.

Goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher is expected to appear in his place.
