Ruud van Nistelrooy will no longer be Leicester City manager and the news was confirmed on Friday.
The Foxes failed to secure their place in the top flight of English football under the 48-year-old Dutchman.
He suffered 19 defeats and only five wins from 27 matches while in charge of the former Premier League champions.
His departure from Leicester was made by "mutual agreement", the English team announced.
Van Nistelrooy wished the club all the best for the future.
Leicester were in 16th place in the table, just one point above the relegation zone, when Van Nistelrooy replaced manager Steve Cooper at the King Power Stadium.
