The Football Association of Ireland, in a statement following the draw made in Brussels on Thursday, announced that it will face Israel.

In Group B3 with Ireland and Israel are also Kosovo and Austria.
In September, there were reports that UEFA could decide in a vote whether to suspend Israel from competitions.

However, this never happened after the peace announcement for the war in Gaza.

"Consultations have been held with UEFA officials, the federation recognises that UEFA regulations state that if an association refuses to play a match, then that match will be forfeited and further disciplinary action may be taken - including possible disqualification from the competition," the Football Association of Ireland said in a statement.
