Home team Southampton took the lead in the fifth minute when Tyler Dibling beat Kosovo goalkeeper Aro Muric. But Ipswich did score a late equalizer after dominating the second half.
Muric stayed in goal throughout the Premier Leagues fifth round match.
Ipswich has three points and remains at the bottom of the table, the same as Southampton who won the first point.
