Mikel Arteta has cemented his place in Arsenal history as one of the club's greatest managers of all time.
This is what Arsenal wrote on their official website on Tuesday, after securing the Premier League title that had awaited them for 22 years.
The former Arsenal captain has become the first former player to win the Premier League title as a manager. Arteta took over as Arsenal manager in December 2019.
The rise of the Arsenal team was continuous with Arteta on the bench and has now been crowned with the championship title.

Xhaka immediately congratulates Arsenal on the championship title
Midfielder Granit Xhaka immediately congratulated Arsenal on their title win. The former Arsenal captain posted a photo of himself hugging manager Mikel Arteta. Xhaka even considers Arteta deserving of the championship title, which Arsenal waited 22 years for.
"A special team, great players and a club that has never stopped believing. But this is because of you, Mikel. For all those who doubted, give this man and this coach the respect he deserves. Congratulations to the whole Arsenal family," Xhaka wrote.
He played for Arsenal from 2016 to 2013. He won trophies, but not the Premier League.
