After discussions that have started since January between the president of the Albanian Football Federation, Armand Duka, and that of Italy, Gabriele Gravina, a historic decision has been made.
Albanian footballers in Italy from the next edition will be considered as local footballers.
This is what the president of the ALF wrote on Saturday, in a post on his Facebook account.
"A historic decision, good news for football players and Albanian football, which comes after discussions in January with the president of the FIGC, Gabriele Gravina. The Executive Committee in the Italian Football Federation has decided to consider Albanian footballers as locals in the 2024-25 season. This is a very good opportunity for Albanian footballers, to have the opportunity to compete in one of the strongest championships in Europe", wrote the president of the AFL.
Meanwhile, the AFL has written on the official website that in making this decision, Prime Minister Edi Rama made an important contribution, after his governmental visits to Italy.
