Two penalties for Mourinho

Jose Mourinho

Jose Mourinho is expected to miss Benfica's next two matches, due to the penalties he received for the red card in the match against Porto and the confrontation with the opposing team's assistant coach.

The Portuguese Football Federation made two decisions that effectively ban the 63-year-old for the next two matches.

Mourinho has been suspended for one match for his red card in Sunday's 2-2 draw. He was shown the red card for leaving the coaching area and kicking the ball towards the Porto bench. He did this while celebrating, saying he was trying to kick the ball towards the stands.

He has also been suspended for 11 days for a confrontation with Porto assistant Lucho Gonzalez.

The renowned coach will be absent from the bench on Saturday against Arouca and also for the match against Vitoria on March 21. Benfica has announced an appeal, considering the decision unfair.
