Days ago, Xherdan Shaqiri bought shares in the third-tier European football club, Rapperswil-Jona. Now two Albanian businessmen have bought 100 percent of the shares of the Schaffhausen club, which was founded in 1896, a full 129 years ago.
Fitim and Boletin Hasani are the new owners of FC Schaffhausen AG. They are part of the construction industry and operate in the Zurich region, the Swiss club has announced.
The club has been facing financial difficulties recently, with debts only increasing. But with new owners, the future is expected to be bright, writes Schaffhausen.
"The Executive Director, Jimmy Berisha, resigns from the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors and hands over the post to Fitim Hasani, who together with Boleti Hasani form the new Board of Directors. The new owners are highly motivated and committed to continuing the tradition and success of the club and to giving new impetus with modern ideas and investments. The past of the new owners in the construction industry will also provide a valuable basis for the long-term development of the stadium," the club's announcement reads.
Albanian Jimmy Berisha has long been the main man at this club. He is pleased that Fitimi and Boletin Hasani are the new owners of the club.

"We are very confident that this support will give the club a valuable boost," said Berisha.
Boletin Hasani said that it is a matter of pride for them to take Schaffhausen.
"It is an honor for us to become part of this traditional club and support it with our expertise in the construction industry and our enthusiasm for the sport," he continued.
Fitim Hasani has indicated that the goal of the new owners is to strengthen the club even further, in the sports and infrastructure fields.
"We look forward to working with everyone involved to make FC Schaffhausen an even stronger club," said Fitim Hasani.
The club has written that it warmly welcomes the new owners and expects successful cooperation.
Schaffhausen competes in the second Swiss division, and after the autumn season is in last position.
