Not everyone agreed that the second round match of the Kosovo Super League football between Drita and Prishtina should be postponed. However, after the situation created on Thursday night, postponing the match scheduled for the weekend turned out to be the right decision. Drita needs time to prepare as best as possible for what could be the “most important match” of the summer, but also of this entire edition.
This is the return match against Inter Club d'Escaldes. Consequently, the match is also important for Kosovar football in general.
For Kosovo, having a team in the Conference League is not the same as not having one. The benefits from Drita's eventual qualification to the league stage in the "Conference League" are not only for this team.
And qualification is now very challenging. Although it started well, with a goal in the fifth minute, Drita played only 2:2 with the team from Andorra on Thursday night at “Fadil Vokrri” in Prishtina. It was the first match of the qualifying playoff of the Conference League. Thus, the “ticket” for the league stage will be divided in the return match, which will take place in Andorra next Thursday from 19:00.
It was expected that Drita would take the big step towards the league stage in the first match. However, they did not achieve this. The performance was not convincing and the 2:2 result proves this.

Absences and the difficult pitch may have played a role. However, the Gjilan team did not convince, even though they were in good form.
A week ago, Drita won 5:0 against Tre Fiori of San Marino. It was by far the deepest victory of the Kosovo champion in European competitions. Then Drita won 5:3 against Llapi in the opening edition of the Kosovo Super League.
Drita was also considered the favorite against Andorran Inter, but without proving this on the field of play.
The Andorran champions are arguably in their best form in European football. They made their first appearance in the third qualifying round, where they eliminated Estonian side Flora. And they are in the play-offs for the first time, with a solid result ahead of their home match.
Andorra, along with San Marino and Montenegro, are the only countries that have yet to have a team in the group stage or league stage of European competitions. Last year, Drita appeared in the league stage of the “Conference League” and moreover went beyond it. The Balkans have competed in the group stage of the Conference League twice.
"We must not give up. We must learn from mistakes, but we are often conceding easy goals. Football has surprises, but we must travel with confidence and I have faith in the players. We can do it. We have a full week to prepare for the match," said Besnik Krasniqi, one of Drita's key players.

This summer, Drita was only convincing against Tre Fiori. And now they will face a decisive match with the team that wants to write history. The eventual historical chapter of Inter Escaldes will be a failure for the Kosovar champion and Kosovar football in general.
