Mallorca hosts Valencia on Tuesday at 19:00 in another crucial match in the race for La Liga relegation. The match of the 33rd round of the Spanish championship will be another opportunity for Vedat Muriqi to score a goal.
He has 21 goals already, and is aiming for more to help Mallorca stay in the Spanish top flight. Whether he scores or not, Muriqi will be the centre of attention at Mallorca's stadium.
Mallorca has organized "Pirates' Day" to celebrate the historic moment, namely the success of Muriqi becoming the team's top scorer in La Liga.
"To mark this, members of the 'Grada Infern 1916' fan club will be given a pirate hat to create a special atmosphere on a special day," Mallorca announced. There will also be other events from Mallorca at the important match with Valencia.
For both teams, points are of great value. Mallorca is 15th with 34 points. Valencia is 14th with 35 points.
Valencia have admitted that the biggest danger comes from the Kosovar.
"Mallorca is not just Muriqi, although the statistics speak for themselves for him as a striker. He is the target player and he is dangerous. We will try to keep him away from the area and away from the game," said Valencia coach Carlos Corberan.

Mallorca is in a solid position to secure their survival in La Liga, largely thanks to the goals of 31-year-old Muriqi.

Dani Guiza holds the record for most goals scored for Mallorca in a single La Liga season. He scored 27 goals in the 2007/08 season, when he was also the top scorer in La Liga. Muriqi is well on his way to breaking that record as well.
