Asllani's transfer to Leipzig fails due to health condition

Noble Asllani

Kosovo striker Fisnik Asllani will continue to be part of Hoffenheim. His transfer to RB Leipzig will not take place, as the club has expressed concerns about the health of the striker from Kosovo. It has not been announced what health concern is in question.

Hoffenheim and Leipzig had an agreement for the 23-year-old, who would sign until 2031. In the end, the transfer was not finalized.

Hoffenheim sporting director Andreas Schicker stressed that the failure to complete the transfer is not bad news for the club, adding that they are convinced that Asllani is capable of performing at the highest level.

"Fisnik has made an extraordinary development at Hoffenheim. The fact that this transfer did not take place is not at all bad news for us from a sporting point of view. We are fully convinced that Fisnik is able to perform at the highest level, both physically and athletically. We stand by our player. He made a great contribution to our success last season, has completed the preparatory phase at the level we have learned from him and from next week he will rejoin the training with the team," said Schicker.

Yesterday, German outlet Kicker reported that Asllani had already passed his medical. The outlet described the transfer failure as "unexpected".
