(KD) – Mirlind Daku continues to be one of the main figures in the Russian football elite. On Saturday, the Kosovar striker scored both goals in Rubin Kazan's 2:2 draw away to Orenburg. The match was in the seventh round of the Russian championship.
Daku had four games without scoring, two of them in the league and two in the cup. He last scored against CSKA Moscow on August 9. In late July and early August he scored in four consecutive games and on Saturday he was effective again.
The Albania international now has six goals in seven league appearances. He also has one goal in three Cup appearances.
Saturday's match was emotional for the powerful forward.
On Friday, he announced the death of his grandfather. He dedicated his goals against Orenburg to his late grandfather. Under his Rubin Kazan jersey, he wore a shirt with a photo of himself and his grandfather, which he showed after scoring goals.
