The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) will hear on October 8 the Senegalese Football Federation's appeal against the decision of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to strip it of its Africa Cup of Nations title.
The case relates to the final between Senegal and Morocco, held in Rabat, where Senegal won 1:0. However, the match was accompanied by controversy after an episode in the last minutes.
After a penalty was awarded to Morocco, Senegal's players temporarily left the field in protest. After about 14 minutes, Senegal's players returned to the game and managed to end the match with a victory.
But CAF then made a decision, registering Morocco as the winner with an official score of 3:0 and stripping Senegal of the title it won on the field.
The Senegalese Football Federation contested this decision and sent the case to CAS, requesting the annulment of the CAF decision and the reinstatement of the title.
The hearing will take place in Lausanne, Switzerland, while the final decision is expected to be made after reviewing the arguments from both sides.
