Italy legend Fabio Cannavaro has officially taken over as coach of the Uzbekistan national team.
Cannavaro has signed a one-year contract with Uzbekistan.

Eugenio Albarella will be assistant coach, Francesco Troise, fitness coach and Antonio Chimenti, goalkeeping coach.
"The Football Association of Uzbekistan has signed a contract with Fabio Cannavaro, a three-time World Cup participant, 2006 World Cup champion and one of the best defenders of the modern era. The Italian coach will lead our national team in preparation for the World Cup to be held in the USA, Canada and Mexico," the Football Federation of Uzbekistan said in a statement.
Cannavaro, 52, was most recently the coach of Dinamo Zagreb. He led the Croatian giants from December last year until April.
He has also been coach of Udinese, Benevento and Al-Nassr.
