The unknown Brazilian, the fastest footballer in the world

Gabriel silva

Gabriel Silva of Portuguese team Santa Clara has set a record for the fastest time in football. Not even Kylian Mbappe has a chance against him.

In a match against Familicao, Silva reached a top speed of 40.3 kilometers per hour. The previous record was 39.21 kilometers per hour, achieved by Newcastle's Sven Botman. Kylian Mbappe has reached a top speed of 36.7 kilometers per hour.

Silva's incredible sprint occurred in the 95th minute of the match at the San Miguel stadium. The team was looking for a counterattack after the defenders cleared the ball. And at that moment the 23-year-old Brazilian reached the record speed. The speed achieved was presented by his club.

For comparison, 100-meter dash legend Usain Bolt reached a top speed of 44.72 kilometers per hour when he set the world record in the most attractive discipline of athletics.
