Mergim Berisha suffered a serious injury in November of last year, rupturing his knee ligament.
This injury kept him out for nearly a year. The Albanian striker returned to the field of play for Hoffenheim last weekend.
He came on in the 78th minute in the away win at Wuerzburger Kickers, in the first round of the German Cup.
The victory was achieved after the execution of penalties, 5:3, after regular time and overtime had ended 2:2.
Berisha scored the second penalty for Hoffenheim.
The coach of Hoffenheim, Pellegrino Matarazzo, spoke about the return of Berisha at the press conference on Thursday.
"He played against Wuerzburg more than planned. We had an opponent who defended strongly, but another dimension of the game is played in the Bundesliga. If Berisha can play for 60 minutes, he is a candidate to be a starter in the upcoming matches. But, I will allow the footballers to play from the beginning, only if they are ready to play at least 60 minutes", Matarazzo declared on Thursday.
Hoffenheim will play the first match of the new edition of the German Bundesliga on Saturday.
At home, it welcomes this year's elite team, Holstein Kiel, from 15:30.
