Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham has successfully undergone shoulder surgery, the club announced on Wednesday.
Bellingham has been playing with this injury since 2023.
But, he decided to play in the Club World Cup with Madrid, before the start of the new season.
Real Madrid were eliminated in the semi-finals by Paris Saint-Germain, who won 4-0, but were defeated 3-0 by Chelsea in the final.
"Bellingham will undergo a rehabilitation period, and then start training," Real Madrid announced, without giving an exact date for his full return.

Spanish media have reported that he could miss three months, and is expected to return in October.
Real Madrid kick off their La Liga campaign on August 19 with a home match against Osasuna.
