Barcelona on Wednesday officially signed goalkeeper Joan Garcia from Espanyol, after paying his €25 million release clause.
The 24-year-old has signed a six-year contract with the Spanish champions, and will join the rest of the team on Friday.
Arsenal and Manchester United were interested in Garcia's services, but he has decided to stay in Spain.
Since making his debut for Espanyol in 2021, Garcia has played in 67 matches.
Garcia helped Espanyol to promotion to La Liga in the 2023-24 season, while playing a crucial role as the team secured survival in the season that ended.
He made 146 saves in Spanish football's elite, more than any other goalkeeper.
Garcia has yet to make his debut for Spain, but has played for the youth teams.
He won the Olympic gold medal with Spain in Paris last summer.
