40 kilos and 1.2 meters tall – the strange trophy that Real Madrid won

 Real Madrid

Real Madrid won the Teresa Herrera Trophy after a 1-0 win over Deportivo La Coruña, with a goal from Brahim Diaz. But what attracted the most attention after the match was the trophy itself.

The Teresa Herrera is one of the oldest and most famous friendly tournaments in world football. It has been held in A Coruña since 1946 and is organized by the local team, Deportivo La Coruna, with matches played at the Riazor stadium.

The tour is named after Teresa Herrera, a famous 18th-century Spanish woman who dedicated her life to helping people in need in this city.

What makes this tournament special is its trophy. It is not an ordinary cup, but a large metal sculpture representing one of the main symbols of the city, the Tower of Hercules.

The trophy is a full 1.2 meters high and weighs around 40 kilograms, making it one of the largest and heaviest trophies in football.

For this reason, getting up after the triumph is not an easy task at all – it even requires a lot of strength.

Fede Valverde and Andriy Lunin carried the trophy to the center of the field. Vinicius Junior watched in amazement as the giant trophy was carried onto the field. The Real Madrid forward burst into laughter when he saw what he had to lift along with his teammates. The other players also had difficulty lifting it, as they had never seen such a trophy before.
