"Megalomania" brings together the dance theater. The performance through the body language of the dance reveals the absurdity and effects and consequences of megalomania. The greatness of man goes beyond. Ignorance and unbridled confidence.
The main character, named after the phenomenon, from the beginning introduces himself and makes the audience understand the extreme dose of megalomania in his character. He refers to himself as a poet, philosopher, everything. Deeds and testimonies are not important. He is convinced of these epithets.
He sends these messages to the public and harasses them with them. No middleman is needed to do this. There are no obstacles between him and those who were on Saturday night at the Amphitheater of the National Theater of Kosovo to watch the show, which is a production of choreographer Robert Nuha.
The show was given before, but this time with a different format. Nuha has considered it as a show with black humor in itself that mocks the absurdity in society.
"We generally work with topics that belong to engaged theater. A kind of oppositional theater if we can call it that which touches on different topics, problems, moments in which society is, calls for awareness in different issues, human rights. It also touches on universal themes about the world we live in. In general, we try that the theater we cultivate, in addition to the attractiveness it can bring, also gives some kind of message, spirit, or excites the public about certain problems that our society has".
Particular scenes bring to mind the sensation in which the audience focuses on the most serious situations. They often get drunk under the influence of megalomania. It's a kind of intoxication that seems necessary for survival. Because then they don't feel the influence that comes from the megalomaniac.
The event takes place in many directions. As it progresses, megalomania is defined more and more. But the personality of the victim is also built. All of them are, but the main one is one of them. The one who tries to fight it. This is the role of Qendrim Makolli.
"My role is the opposite of the megalomaniac because I am always, as seen in the show, against him. I try to take his power even though it has not been possible, but I try all the time. Until finally I fall down and bow to him, because only he is eternal".
The actor Patriot Osmani said that the show was difficult to some extent, but that the rehearsal process was a kind of healing.
"In the beginning it was a bit difficult as it is a show that requires great physical commitment, but over time it has become organic. It was a big job and I believe it was also seen in the process. The beginning was very difficult, seeing the phenomenon that is unfortunately very common in our country, but over time we realized that it is a sensitizing show. A little more for the fact that it makes us think that we should not be such a society".
The show also stars Altina Binaku, Lavdije Idrizi, Albiona Sahiti, Lirilinda Krasniqi and Enis Mulaku.
The play culminates when the main character loses the power to act on the rest as if they were instruments. Even if it is about resurrection. They do not obey even when he creeps about their resurrection. Although they do so, only to make him the only victim. Victim of himself.
