Return of "John Cage's Hamlet"

"This play seriously damages clichés", was the inscription on the poster of the play "John Cage's Hamlet" directed by Bekim Lum, which was premiered in November 2015. Six years later, three after the death of the director, the play is given as a tribute to Lum.

Bujar Ahmeti, Labinot Raci and Luan Durmishi, together with the cellist Adorel Haxhija, have recreated the same show on stage in every detail. It was given within this year's edition of "Kosovo Theater Showcase".

With a full hall in the Modelarium of the Faculty of Architecture, they have brought Bekim Lumi's version of Hamlet. Beyond clichés and decoding Shakespeare.

In a not very spacious environment, Hamlet's monologues are spoken in front of the audience and his boredom is also manifested in songs.

The cast of actors who play in the show have remembered the rehearsal time and the details that one of the most famous Albanian directors took care of.

Through the voice of the tenor Luan Durmishi and the vision of the avant-garde composer John Cage, the prince of Denmark has managed to convey, in addition to his emotional state, the pain he carries in his head when he finds out about his aunt's tricks. The show is crafted to the finest detail, just like Bekium Lumi did.
