"Anibari" and young viewers

The fourth day of the international animated film festival "Anibar" has opened with the youth competition. On Thursday, guests at the "Jusuf Gërvalla" cinema were the children of the "Bone yourself" summer camp. For less than an hour, five films of this category are shown on the big screen.

"Kaddy", "The Rubbish World of Dave Spud", "A story of story of story a Christmas' story", "Siwoo is a picky eater" and "Recipes Book" were the five films that bring different themes and situations as well as techniques and genres. They came in English, Polish and French.

This year's edition lacks the local films of "Anibari", which has long been transformed into an engine for the promotion of local productions. On the second day, he signed an agreement with France, which brings Kosovo almost half a million euros for this very purpose.

12-year-old Bora Demaj said that she would like to see movies in Albanian.

"I liked more the second film that was shown today and also the last one. For me these two have been more interesting. Maybe I'll even come back to watch movies here. I think there should be Albanian films here too, but not more than one. I think there should be more in the English language. I think so, because children these days know and understand more English".

Bora's friend, Troi, says he didn't like the movies shown on Thursday. This, as they were not in the Albanian language and he did not even understand the characters due to the mixing of the scenes.

"I didn't like any movie that came out earlier. All the characters in the movies were talking about something different to what was shown on the screen and I couldn't understand it. I think there should be Albanian films in 'Anibar', because that way we can better understand the films and it's better for us too".

The director of the "Anibar" organization, Vullnet Sanaja, said that due to the lack of local productions in this year's edition of "Anibar", there are none.

"We at 'Anibar' have films from all over the world. Here they apply from all countries, this year we had about 1.500 applications and a considerable number of films were selected from them. This year there were no films from Kosovo, perhaps because there were no films produced this year. Currently, the Cinematographic Center of Kosovo supports two or three animated films, it was necessary to increase this support and produce more animated films. Then they could even be programmed at the festival. We are also training and introducing young directors, so that they can then create their own film products".

In the 15th edition of the "Anibar" animation festival this year, 150 films from all over the world will be shown, with the theme "Destroy the patriarchy".
