Russia's Andrey Mostovoy became the first player to leave the team due to the coronavirus infection.
The Russian representative announced the news on the social network "Twitter".
"There is a change in the national team of Russia for Euro 2020. Due to the negative result of the PCR test of the player Andrey Mostovoy, the management staff of the team has decided to replace him with the defender Roman Evgeniev", says the announcement of the Representative of Russia .
This announcement comes a day before Russia plays Belgium in St. Petersburg in the opening match of Euro 2020.
Mostovoy made his debut for Russia last year and has played in eight of the last 11 games, mostly as a substitute. Meanwhile, Evgeniev's only appearance for his country was in the 5-0 defeat by Serbia last year.
Sweden and Spain have reported positive results with the coronavirus within the team, but have not yet replaced infected players.
