Federico Chiesa is expected to start from the first minute for Italy in the quarter-final against Belgium.
The media in Italy write that in Wednesday's training session, Chiesa was in place of Berardi in the 11 that coach Roberto Mancini tried.
Chiesa has been fighting since the beginning of "Euro 2020" to occupy a place in the first team, and it seems now he has achieved it, thanks to the goal he scored against Austria, where he entered from the reserve bench.
The dilemma is in midfield. Marco Verratti, Nico Barella, Manuel Locatelli and Matteo Pessina are fighting for two places, while Jorginho seems untouchable.
Good news for the Italians is the return of Giorgio Chiellini, who has trained with the team and is expected to play in place of Francesco Acerbi.
