Data from foreign trade in goods in Kosovo showed a trade deficit of 16,1 percent in June 2026, compared to the same period in 2025, or in the amount of 578,3 million euros, compared to the deficit of 498,3 million euros in 2025.
The Kosovo Agency of Statistics' data on exports and imports state that exports cover imports by 15,0 percent.
According to ASK, the export of goods in June 2026 was worth 102,0 million euros, while imports were worth 680,3 million euros, which is an increase of 26,9% for exports, as well as an increase of 17,6% for imports, compared to the same period in 2025.
According to data on the main export groups, 27,4% are base metals and articles thereof; 12,7% are prepared foods, beverages and tobacco; 10,6% are plastics, rubber and articles thereof; 8,7% are various manufactured articles; 7,1% are mineral products, etc.
While according to data on the main import groups, 15,2% are mineral products; 13,0% are machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment; 12,0% are means of transport; 11,9% are prepared foods, beverages and tobacco, 9,8% are base metals and articles thereof, etc.
Regarding Kosovo's exports to European Union countries, they have reached 32,5 million euros, or about 31,9% of total exports, with an increase of 17,7%.
The main partners for the export of goods to the EU were Germany (10,1%), the Netherlands (3,8%), Italy (3.1%), etc.
Trade deficit in Kosovo increases
Meanwhile, Kosovo's imports from EU countries were around 304,9 million euros, or 44,8% of total imports, with an increase of 22,2%. The imports with the highest share were from: Germany (13,3%), Italy (8,6%), Poland (4,3%), etc.
Meanwhile, Kosovo's exports to CEFTA countries reached 44,0 million euros, or 43,1% of total exports, with an increase of 19,3%. The main export partners from CEFTA countries were: North Macedonia (16,7%), Albania (14,3%), Montenegro (5,7%), Serbia (4,0%), etc.
Imports from CEFTA countries reached 98,7 million euros, or 14,5% of total imports, with an increase of 19,3%. The countries with the highest share in imports were: North Macedonia (5,4%), Albania (4,8%), Serbia (3,0%).
KAS has also monitored exports and imports with other countries. Kosovo's exports with other countries amounted to 25,5 million euros, or 25,0%. The most important export partners from these countries were: Switzerland (10,0%) and Turkey (5,4%). Meanwhile, Kosovo's imports with other countries amounted to 276,7 million euros, or 40,7%. The countries with the highest import participation in this group were: China (15,1%) and Turkey (11,6%).
