The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published data on export and import flows for February 2025, according to which the trade deficit is 13,6% higher, compared to February last year.
Data from Kosovo's foreign trade in goods show a trade deficit of 451,4 million euros, compared to the deficit of 397,4 million euros in February 2024.
According to ASK, exports cover imports by only 13%.
"The export of goods in February 2025 was worth 67,3 million euros, while imports were worth 518,6 million euros, which is a decrease of (-4,3%) for exports, as well as an increase of 10,9% for imports, compared to the same period in 2024," the announcement states.
According to data on the main export groups: 26,1% are base metals and articles thereof; 15,1% are plastics, rubber and articles thereof; 10,8% are miscellaneous manufactured articles; 10,6% are prepared foods, beverages and tobacco; 6,2% are textiles and textile articles, etc.
While according to data on the main import groups: 16,8% are mineral products; 11,3% are means of transport; 11,3% are prepared foods, beverages and tobacco; 10,6% are machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment; 9,7% are base metals and articles thereof, etc.

KAS has also presented data regarding Kosovo's exports and imports to EU countries.
"Kosovo's exports to EU countries reached 24,5 million euros, or about 36,5% of total exports, with an increase of 12,1%. The main partners for the export of goods to the EU were: Germany (12,7%), the Netherlands (3,6%), Italy (3,5), etc. Kosovo's imports from EU countries were about 229,1 million euros, or 44,2% of total imports, with an increase of 5,4%. The imports with the highest participation were from: Germany (14,6%), Italy (6,4%), Greece (3,3%), etc.," the KAS announcement states.
Data on Kosovo's exports and imports with CEFTA countries are also presented.
"Kosovo's exports to CEFTA countries reached 28,9 million Euros, or 43,0% of total exports, with an increase of 1,2%. The main export partners from CEFTA countries were: Albania (15,6%), North Macedonia (15,0%), Serbia (5,7%), Montenegro (5,2%). Imports from CEFTA countries reached 83,4 million Euros, or 16,1% of total imports, with an increase of 9,0%. The countries with the highest import participation were: North Macedonia (7,0%), Albania (5,2%), Serbia (2,8%)", the announcement states.

KAS has also presented data on Kosovo's exports and imports with other countries of the world.
"Kosovo's exports to other countries of the world reached 13,8 million Euros, or 20,5%. The most important export partners from these countries were: Switzerland (10,5%) and the USA (2,5%). Kosovo's imports to other countries of the world reached 206,1 million Euros, or 39,8%. The countries with the highest import participation in this group were: Turkey (13,5%) and China (9,9%)", the announcement states.
