Serbia's terrorist attack exposed a strong Kosovo

The explosion of the main vein that supplies Kosovo with water is a boomerang for Serbia. The attack exposed the state with strong institutions that know how to face emergency situations produced by acts of terrorism, similarly as it repelled the aggression in Banjska

Kosovo repeated the lesson to Serbia. It backfired, attacking critical infrastructure on the evening of November 29. The state authorities demonstrated the power to face whatever comes from the hostile state, which aims to achieve its goals through terrorist groups, such as "Civil Defense" and "North Brigade".

The demolition with explosives of a key part of the bed of Ibër-Lepenc was intended to paralyze Kosovo, since from Lake Ujman, through this channel, a large part of the municipalities are supplied with drinking water, while the furnaces of the Energy Corporation of Kosovo and those of Ferronikeli, provide cooling and the work of "Termokos" also depends on this water.

The most explosive damage was great. However, the consequences are much smaller than those that were intended, including the humanitarian and economic crisis.

Yes. Most of the citizens were left temporarily without drinking water. Solidarity was demonstrated between the regional enterprises responsible for providing water, and the institutions also offered autobots in each affected neighborhood. And, in the evening, the Regional Water Company "Mitrovica" announced that the treatment and distribution of water has begun, albeit with a reduced capacity.

Other damages were avoided.

Within three hours, the mobilization of the institutions caused the emergency flow in the channel hit by the explosive to be restored and reach the power plants. Kosovo did not experience an energy collapse, and not even a single second of energy reduction.

Feronicel continued the routine.

Prishtina was warmed by "Termokosi", like every other day.

This is the result of the immediate mobilization of institutions. The result is also the ability to deal with the unexpected, including terrorist attacks like this one.

So, the result of the test that Serbia did, showed the full functionality of each institution of the state of Kosovo.

Serbia received the main blow from the security institutions. Just a few hours after the attack, Prime Minister Albin Kurti announced the raid, the arrests and the evidence and material evidence seized. Later, the police confirmed that they have arrested 8 suspects for the terrorist attack on the Ibër-Lepenci canal and for the two bomb attacks that were carried out this week against a police station and a municipal facility in the north.

The evidence exposed Serbia as the author of the attacks: Over 200 military uniforms, 6 boots, 3 hand grenades, 4 AK47 guns, 4 revolvers, 1 hunting gun, 6 AK47 magazines, ammunition of various calibers, fuses for initiating explosives, military helmets, masks, knives and other equipment. Most of them are believed to belong to the stored arsenal of the Serbian army.

Serbia also felt the biggest shock from the detonation with about 20 kilograms of explosives in the diplomatic aspect. All allies showed solidarity with Kosovo, and expressed their willingness to offer any help. In addition to the appeal for a deep investigation and to bring those responsible to justice, the name of Serbia was also mentioned. This constitutes the biggest message that, not only in Pristina, official Belgrade is seen as the originator and executor of the biggest attack that has happened to Kosovo's critical infrastructure since the post-war.

It is clear that the political context of these attacks is not accidental. For years, the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, has openly shown that he will spare no means to annex the north to Kosovo. He explained this through chess terms: "There are still pieces on the board. It is possible to fight with them, to draw a kind of rummy".

So he wants a "winnerless" ending.

He then clarified what he meant by the "remi" situation.

"I know that there are no Serbs in Kaçanik and this is a bitter truth," Vuçiqi said in the summer of 2018. "I am more worried by the fact that Hashim Thaçi believes that Northern Mitrovica or Leposaviqi do not belong to Serbia".

Openly, he knows that Kosovo is lost, but he does not give up on the north.

Therefore, Serbia has returned to terrorist acts, since the "figures" so far have not yielded results: It failed in the "game with democracy" through the resignation of Serbs from local and public institutions, and with them they lost the illegal billboards, the dinar, and many institutions he held illegally; he also failed in the "game with fire", when through the paramilitary group responsible for the attack in Banjska, he could not carry out the plan for annexation, but three lives were lost, three others were captured and the entire group led by Milan Radoicic was exposed. for which the prosecution gave evidence that it was helped by the Serbian state with more than 100 million euros.

So, hitting the main vein that supplies water to Kosovo with explosives is a boomerang for Serbia. The attack exposed the state with strong institutions that know how to face even emergency situations produced by acts of terrorism.
