With 100 euros for Germany

Kosovo is in danger. Not from liberalization, but from their own actions. It is high time for changes. So that the 100 euros don't cost us...

Liberation belongs to one of the last pre-war generations. He does not remember the war. I only know from other people's stories. He grew up in average conditions in a happy family that was convinced that returning to Kosovo is the best decision of his life. They hoped that the future would be better. Once they were convinced that Liberation would grow in a safe country and that it would surpass even Switzerland...

After graduating from the Faculty of Medicine, he started his career as a doctor in a country where even the bathrooms leak. It began to serve where the remote control knobs of the beds are only decorative. He came to the people's side even though he knew that they could not find a cure in Kosovo. He tried to convince them to try for life, even though he himself admitted that in the absence of conditions, their future was coming to an end. Tired of work and upset by the cases he was experiencing, his hope faded that his workplace will one day be normal. However, he constantly opposed his friends who told him to go to Germany. With almost his entire salary on the loan, he helped parents on the verge of retirement overcome life's challenges.

Overwhelmed by a day of work, at the end of the year when he returned home he found 200 euros near the closet. Surprised, because he couldn't save at all, he didn't even see a letter attached. "My son, it's time to think about yourself. You have 200 euros to look for a work contract, where you have dignity. Think about yourself." The father, who once brought him back to Kosovo, had already surrendered. With the money of his retired parents, Çlirim's father wanted to free his son from the oppression of Kosovo. As in the movies, he had reviewed his whole life back in a few seconds, including the actions he has done since returning to his hometown. In the end, he had asked himself the question whether his son deserves to have insurmountable challenges, because of his father's decision. After accepting the answer, he decided to take the money that the state donated to the pensioners and take the boy away.

With liberalization on the horizon, Çlirim's father knew that there were not many obstacles for his son to go to Germany to look for jobs and negotiate contracts. He only needed the money to meet the condition of daily stay. Since Germany demanded about 45 euros a day, he took 200 euros from his retired parents and gave it to his son to look for a job in Germany for a few days in January. He secured his accommodation and ticket.

Put on the brink of all the actions performed, Liberation had no choice but to surrender to the fact that life demands a big change.

After a few months, on the way by plane, Çlirim was bored and afraid of what was waiting for him. Could he leave behind only his parents and sister? How could he leave the place where he grew up and experienced everything? What if it's the same there and they don't wait for him with flowers? Everything was in his head, but he was already on his way. Heaven, on the other hand, made him a little happy that finally, in a few days, he can see Germany, where he was born.

Upon arrival, he saw his friends at the airport. She had grown up and been educated with them, and now they were waiting for her in costumes that in Kosovo you only see at weddings and official events. He craved. His friends had secured the negotiations for a work contract, and Çlirim had enough money to travel from the place where he was sleeping to his family. The 200 euros was enough for him for four days, as proof that the work of liberalization required him, and to see where employment and residences suited him best.

He returned without spending a cent for these few days, because family and friends came to his side. He already had the list where the continuation of his life suited him, but he was still unsure whether he could make the final decision. Weeks and months passed and the crisis got worse and worse and he had to wait. He left Kosovo and found a job with a not very high salary, and an apartment that he would share with a friend.

Already on the way to consolidation, Çlirimi decided to enjoy the summer as an expatriate in Pristina. Sitting with his grandparents and parents, in the sunshine now freed from the stress of the loan, over a coffee there was a moment of reflection. He remembered how the 200-euro opened the way for him to change his life. With those 200 euros at the beginning, Çlirim was already sending the same amount as his salary to Kosovo, for his parents who were approaching retirement.

He will never forget the end of 2023. It was his father's letter that convinced him to leave. But it was his grandparents' money that brought him liberation. Above all, it was the surrender of the state for the future.

He was constantly laughing at the video "where to go, in Jamaica, Jamaica". But the first video, some 10 years ago, turned out to be a bitter reality. He was seeing Kosovo being emptied, day by day the list of reasons was adding lines. Among the main ones, he had experienced them with his own skin. He worked in health in a country where there is no proper health system and he was educated in a country that is on the returned list. On top of all this, he had to survive with a salary.

Faced with all the crises, instead of mitigating the situation of 'liberations', Kosovo surrendered. In the absence of an investment vision, the state had turned into a charity through the windows. At a time when young people do not stop to understand that the future is fading, the allocation of aid from the state and the liberalization of visas for the Liberation were equivalent to the call to release this country.

The Government of Kosovo has allocated almost 69 million euros in the form of a subsidy of 100 euros for the two most sensitive categories, children and pensioners. Over 680 thousand is the number of those who benefit from this measure. Gifts for the new year are always welcome, but assets in such a form when the economic situation requires deep investments and recoveries. To make matters worse, the move is happening in the third year of the government, which was known as the last hope. I'm losing hope.

One can say that 69 million euros for these categories is better as a gift than as a punishment for highways. True. But the gift would be justified if these pensioners with 100 euros per month would not be served in chaotic hospitals. Apart from that, there is no justification for dividing the same amount for everyone. Part of the state's millions will also be taken by millionaire pensioners or even the children of millionaires. 100 euros for the millionaire's child as much as for the pauper. 100 euros for the pensioner who suffers in Kosovo with a 100 euro pension and the same amount for the pensioner who lives in a real health system in Germany, and who is now treated under the orders of Liberation.

Those who do not belong to the generation "that would make Kosovo Switzerland" do not feel the hand of the state. This generation is already running away to become "Swiss or German". Retirees' money will paradoxically be used as gifts for better opportunities for the golden generation who are looking at long-term contracts. Without a doubt, the children will repay them when they have welfare away. Maintaining poverty leads nowhere, the opposition said. In fact, unfortunately I was shipping to Germany.

Liberation may not be the only one. Kosovo is in danger. Not from liberalization, but from myself. It's high time to do the right thing, or everyone will want the release. The release is turning out not to be too expensive this year, but threatens to cost heavily in the future.
