When the competition was opened, the director of the Cinematographic Center of Kosovo, Blerta Zeqiri, told TIME that the plans are that this year the KKK will open two competitions within the year, one in June and the other in November.

"It's easier for filmmakers to apply when we have two competitions a year. The idea is to have a competition in November, so that the process can be completed by March, so that the films that are selected can have time to apply to other co-production funds. In March and April, competitions around the world are opened", said Zeqiri.

Under normal conditions, the KKK would have to open the competition at the beginning of the year. In 2022 it was opened on July 15. However, the procedures until the finalization had lasted until the end of December. In 2021 the competition was opened at the end of September, while in 2020 in July. As for the year 2021, at that time the KKK had financial troubles. This year, as last year, the budget for subsidies according to the Law on budget appropriations is 1.5 million euros.

In 2021, the Cinematographic Center of Kosovo continued the trend of increasing film projects, which it supports with subsidies. While 2021 cinematographic projects were supported in 22, for 2022 the number has increased to 26. The highest cinematographic institution of the state has kept the pace in supporting feature length films. As in 2021, five projects have been supported in 2022 as well.

In nine categories, the KKK had qualified 51 projects as complete and to be examined by the juries. The goals of the institution, which was without a director for more than a year, are to continuously increase the number of projects supported.

"Hatixhe and Shaban a story of money and shame" with producer Eshref Durmishin and director and screenwriter Visar Morin, "Jerëm" with script and direction of Ismet Sijarin, "Asylum" directed by Jeton Ahmetaj and screenplay by Jeton Neziraj and "Me other words" written and directed by Valbona Jashari, are the projects for feature films that were selected to be supported with the 2022 competition.
