11 businesses are checked, various goods are confiscated

The Task Force for combating piracy and counterfeiting has carried out an action in three regions of Kosovo, Pristina, Prizren and Gjakova, where 11 commercial entities suspected of counterfeit goods were checked. The amount of confiscated products so far is over 800 pieces (various products) as well as 350 grams of precious metals (silver).

Adriatik Stavileci, spokesman for the Kosovo Customs, which together with the Directorate for the investigation of economic crimes and corruption in the Police, the Directorate for the investigation of cybercrimes in the Police and the Market Inspectorate, are part of this Task Force, said that after receiving the information and work in the field for their verification have discovered that commercial subjects possess goods that are suspected to be counterfeit.

"Therefore, as a result of the suspicion, the competent institutions in cooperation and coordination of actions in accordance with the legal powers have planned operational actions in the field and implemented the Operational Plan, where 11 commercial subjects were checked in 3 regions of the Republic of Kosovo (Prishtina, Prizren and Gjakovë )", said Stavileci.

"3 economic entities were temporarily closed by the market inspectors as they are considered to have not enabled the inspectors to carry out their official work", it is stated in the notification of the MINT Inspectorate.
