South Korea coach Hong Myung-bo has resigned after the team failed to advance to the round of 32 of the World Cup.
South Korea finished in tenth place in the group of third-place teams.
The eight best third-place teams secured passage to the knockout stage.
Hong's contract was set to last until the 2027 Asian Cup.
Hong returned to South Korea in July 2024. He had previously managed South Korea at the 2014 World Cup, when they were knocked out in the group stage, finishing last in a group with Belgium, Algeria and Russia.
