English referee Michael Oliver will not be present for the first match of the World Cup due to injury.
The 41-year-old was appointed referee of the Group E match between Ivory Coast and Ecuador in Philadelphia, which is played at 1am on Sunday.
He has been replaced by Frenchman Francois Letexier, the BBC wrote on Saturday.
FIFA has said that Oliver will be ready in the coming days.
Oliver has been a Premier League referee since 2010, while UEFA promoted him to the elite referees list in 2018.
