Christian Eriksen is in good condition and expected to be released from hospital after collapsing on the pitch again while playing for Denmark, the Danish national team's doctor said on Monday.

The 34-year-old placed his hands on his chest before falling to the ground in the 65th minute of the friendly between Denmark and Ukraine in Odense on Sunday.

The midfielder then left the field on his own after being treated by doctors. Further tests were carried out on the player at Odense University Hospital.

On Monday, doctor Morten Boesen said: "I spoke to Christian this morning and he is fine. He is with his family and is in good spirits. He is expected to be discharged soon and return home."
Boesen said the federation is taking good care of the players and staff, and is maintaining regular contact with them.

Eriksen was fitted with a cardioverter defibrillator after suffering a cardiac arrest at Euro 2021. He continued his career for about a year after that incident. He is currently with Wolfsburg in Germany.
