Real Madrid legend Luis Figo believes that French star Kylian Mbappe remains one of the main candidates to win the "Ballon d'Or", following his excellent performance at the World Cup with France.
"Mbappe's excellent performance at the World Cup puts him among the potential Ballon d'Or winners," Figo declared. "I would also include a PSG player who has won the Champions League."
Kylian Mbappe was declared the top scorer of the 2026 World Cup with ten goals. He also contributed with four assists.
For Real Madrid in all competitions of the 2025/2026 edition, Mbappe has scored a total of 40 goals and six assists.
The Frenchman was La Liga's top scorer, scoring a total of 25 goals, just two more than Kosovo striker Vedat Muriqi.
