Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said Ukrainian intelligence has identified 155 Chinese nationals fighting alongside Russian forces, a day after Ukraine said two Chinese had been captured.

China has consistently denied involvement in the war.

A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Wednesday that any claim that Chinese citizens are fighting in Ukraine is groundless, CNN reported.

A document from Ukrainian security agencies has shown a list of over 150 Chinese who have served in Russian forces.

"We are gathering information and we believe there is more," Zelensky said.

Zelensky has said that Ukraine is ready to exchange the two captured Chinese for Ukrainian prisoners of war.
